I designed the skill calculator to give a familiar feeling, taking components in game and skinning the gui to be similar. The goal of the application is to give players an easy, fast, and lightweight way to plan out character builds and share them with the community (or not). Registration is not required, you are still able to make and load builds as a guest. However, if you would like to have certain features such as saving builds or sending me bugs you will need to register.

*note - If you are experiencing errors, or it is not working properly, PLEASE CLEAR YOUR CACHE (especially for Firefox users). Changes have been made to the databases which may affect how old versions will operate.

*note2 - If you are a kind individual who has decided to make a donation to the calculator, please include your email/username or shoot me a pm with it so I can activate unlimited build saving for you .

NEW UPDATES
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Version 1.1 - Jan 30 2010

Added features:
Ability to filter builds by level/race/jobs

Bug Fixes:
Builds with apostrophes ( ' ) in skill names or build names now save successfully

Character Planner 1.0 Release - Nov 23rd 2009

Features implemented so far:
- Skill Information Tree
- DNA Information Tree
- Purchased Skills List
- Build Saving
- Build Linking
- Public/Private builds
- Bug Submission, please use this!

Future additions:
- Build Filters
- Skill+DNA stat compounding
- HTML Skill Database
- And of course... fixing submitted/discovered bugs
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

There was an issue with the registering form where it wasnt sending an activation email due to some incorrect directory pathing in my scripts... its now been corrected and emails are sending properly again. I manually activated those who have already registered, so your accounts can now be logged in.

If you have errors with skills... please use the built in bug reporting feature. Thanks

ill say one more time, please do NOT post replies here or pm me about skill issues unless there is something wrong with the built in bug reporter... it makes it MUCH easier for me to troubleshoot and fix the skill database if you use the bug reporting feature.

Nice work, Diggity. I erroneously reported some skill bugs in the app bug section, but I went back and reported correctly.

Yay, improvements

Made a bugreport with the thing but I'll say it here too; its not registering the second class correctly. You can level up skills meant for the other second class. :x

thanks to everyone who reported bugs already yesterday... but I got kind of overwhelmed due to the 35 emails in my inbox this morning when i woke up lol. I will try to work on the skill database tonight when i get some time, but my cousin is in town atm so I need to keep him entertained. Also thank you for pointing out the 2nd job requirements not working properly lank, thats a huge bug and i totally forgot to add that requirement back in on my rewrite, i left it out for testing purposes :x.

one other thing... for people who were creating and saving builds that were over level 55 or so, due to my database field that stored the builds strings being only 255 characters, it seemed to be truncating the string and causing not all of the points to be loaded, or for it to load improperly. I increased the character space to 1024 so I am hoping that will fix the problem, if you had a build with spent points you should now try to resave again, or delete the build and make a new one, sorry for the trouble.

Works like a charm now :-)
I could include my personal build and 2 basic builds to help ppl make a Defiler build with already pre-set must have skills (Links included in my Dom/Defiler Build Threads). Just lovely Diggity!

Eh.. you're welcome, but did you actually fix it? Because I can still level up any skill regardless of chosen second class even though the skill shows required class red.

Just thinking that there's no point reporting each skill one by one for same reason.

What are you complaining about? Most people that aren't playing this game wouldn't even DO what Diggity is doing. Be happy that he's still around here to support his creations, most of the people would have let it rot ...

k

I find it disturbing that Diggity isn't playing the game anymore. I appreciate it the effort, but it's kind of sad that he has to. In my experience, most of these kinds of tools are created & managed by active gamers who have written them for either their own benefit, or for the benefit of their guild/clan/supergroup. They are posted on player-managed fansite or guild-sites, and are managed by community leaders who are plugged into beta releases & have a feel for where the game is & what's going on. I don't see that kind of community in this game. I've been cruising the forums for about 3 weeks, playing the game for about 2, and I really haven't seen either the tight community or the communication between the community & the game devs that I would expect from a developing MMO.

I'm sure that some of you more established players, with your encyclopediac knowledge of the game, your high-level characters, and your network of pals in the guilds have a different point of view on the situation, since you're in your little comfort zone. But from the outside looking in, this the view that I see.

EDIT: Couldn't get it to work earlier, but it's working now.
